The Mission of The Selective Echo

The Selective Echo will provide an entertaining, informative, and provocative look at Salt Lake City and its cosmopolitan best. Nearly six years after hosting a hugely successful Winter Olympics, the city continues to develop handsomely as a major American urban center. There is much to emphasize. Utah enjoys a robust economy with one of the nation’s lowest unemployment rates along with a still-robust housing market. And, the state continues to grow – among the four fastest in terms of population increase. Mix in a strong entrepreneurial spirit, a fierce commitment to outstanding outdoor recreational resources, and the well-established Utah tradition of volunteer and community service activity and Salt Lake City emerges as a surprisingly diverse, vibrant community with plenty of evidence to show its global character.

So, from its humble beginnings, the blog will hopefully mature like the city it covers – emerging as a leading independent online source of the performing and cinematic arts, pop culture, dining, style, news and politics, entertainment, technology, travel and hospitality, and business and entrepreneurship.

And, gentle readers, your comments and news/info tips will always be welcomed and appreciated.
